Is the stigma for mma corners to not throw in the towel because most only fight 1-2 times a year so the potential win bonus over rides their safety concerns? Cause man tony and smith definitely wont be the same when they return.

throwing in the towel is so damn rare in mma, with how safety conscious refs are nowadays, corners may not even think about it anymore
I think ive only seen it once, dont remember the fight tho. And you’re right usually refs come in early to stop and i have definitely wanted some fights to go longer but not when its so one sided for like 3 rounds lol
The only two I can recall off the top of my head is Nick throwing in the towel for his brother and BJ Penn’s team stopping it on the stool.
In boxing you see fights waived off by their corner pretty often.
Now that I think about it, the BJ Penn one might not have even been his corner. I think it was just him refusing to answer the bell.
Big Daddy Goodridge vs Oleg Taktarov for those that don't know the fighters.
the gracie towel obviously and i also remember reem's corner throwing the towel against lil nog back in the day too.
Team Run Together!

i don't know if you guys are ready for this but Conor McGregor has retired from the sport of MMA
they say the brightest lights burn out the quickest
conor retired the moment he made 100m from the floyd fight. all this other shit is academic
