I just finished the movie!

It's really good and wholesome. Entire thing is just fun for the most part.
Music was kind of weak, there was no song this time around.
I really liked the characters, there's no one really to hate.
The intro segment gives a very nice introduction to none Dragonball watchers so for those taking their wife or partner in and they're not a DB fan or have caught up with the story it lays down the plot/groundwork for the movie.
The plot is quite simple overall which is not a bad thing; as said above, both plotlines in the story are well laid out and justified
It's also quite a refreshing movie.
The 3D may have shocked people but really it's not that bad. Once you've settled in a bit into the movie it's more or less fine and shouldn't take away your enjoyment.
As usual modern dragon ball fight sequences are just not as good as it was in the gritty 90s but that's fine.

Not saying anything else for now until more of you have watched it! I'm really happy I watched it and it was worth the effort to go with a good friend of mine. Today, tomorrow and the day after there are industrial strike actions on the trainlines so I took the shot/risk and went anyway. Took me 3.5~ hours to get home on what would normally be a 1 hour journey but no big deal. All worth, no regrets.

edit: If you're allowed to bring food into the cinema, I recommend taking a pack of Oreos because god damn I was craving for some during it lol. While Oreos is not mentioned, the heavy focus on them made me wonder about the use of it

edit2: We watched the dub, if it matters. DB at this stage is so mature/experienced in terms of voices I think it does not matter as much as it once did

They're cashing in on merch and nostalgia, but sometimes the payoff is worth it like the tournament of power it's the worst type of addiction when it's actually enjoyable part of the time

After how drawn out it was it was kinda nice to see Freiza just shut it all down by murdering them no questions asked. Kinda invalidates the entire point of the arc though which was these guys wanted the strength to kill Freiza but whatever. At least it's over.
