Also, has Whis or Beerus ever once suggested Goku or Vegeta as a GoD candidate directly? That really stuck out to me when they started talking about Gohan’s power.

I'd think if it would happen, it would be Vegeta, since his path was definitely more "power" and "strength" related. I'd see Goku be more aligned with the path of a Whis/Zemo High Priest since he has the capability to go Ultra Instinct and all.
