From what I understand DB is a pretty big deal over there.
Oh yeah, that's been the dialogue in the thread for a bit now, I'm just adding to it
Man, Super's art and animation quality has really come a long way, hasn't it?
Nothing to see here.
Spoiler: show
Everything's fine.
I feel like every line of Goku's speech during this episode is completely undermined by the fact that he has multiple sets of Dragonalls he constantly abuses for reviving the dead AND time travel exploitation that any remotely more competent than Beerus GoD would have exploded the planet over while Jiren had to watch everyone around him die.
Since the beginning of the series they've been saving their budget for last night's episode obviously
Goku has been working at a taco stand for decades to fund this episode.
Episode was intense. Same ol "I fite for muh friends" tropes, but whatever that fight was fire.

I'm actually surprised there weren't any Zen-Oh cutaways of them stupidly reacting and repeating each other.
Yeah, felt weird to me too
You mean feels good. Just more time for fights because we don't need the insight of literal children.
I'm all for more of a focus on the fight, but I feel they should've reacted to what Jiren did in that scene I mentioned at least.

Fun fact.
The guy who directed and did key animation on that terribly animated episode at the start of Super also did this last episode. He was responsible for both ends of the spectrum here. Naoki Tate. He redeemed himself I'd say.
Occurred to me for the first time that these 25-minute episodes taking less than a minute isn't as ridiculous as I thought, keeping in mind that the fights we're watching are actually happening at speeds too fast for us to comprehend. Like what we're seeing is the actual fight in ultra slo-mo.
Thats how I always reconciled everything in this show since Freeza's 5 minutes lol. It really doesn't work though when they cut away and show people reacting in real time. Like, we have over a couple of minutes of commentary from people in the stands in just the past 2 minutes of the fight or so.
DB can increase and decrease the passage of time whenever it pleases and it gives you zero fucking warning as to when it does it. So yeah best not think about how time works in this series.
After that episode if the anime was real and this was really happening right now in real life in space for our universe I wouldn't even be mad.
