This was a secret ffxiv gm sting operation and youre all under arrest
If anyone has actually gotten a reply regarding the other unused actions mentioned, I wouldn't mind a PM either.
This is a 9 day suspension which means that they are most likely to be upgraded to a permaban.
Supposedly people who also abused a html exploit to xfer to balmung also got banned.
Reporting in for my 9 day ban lol
I made my wife use it once and she ain't banned thank fuck.
>.> so you took the risk of no more sex for boosted dmg..
When you put it that way...
Who wouldn't.
Just FYI, Yoshi/SE doesn't care about videos/streams, it's counted as "outside evidence" - I literally posted videos of me using exploits back in 3.x era and they dismissed the topic because of "outside evidence."
Also: People who DID get banned by the HTML...not even saying exploit cuz it's like 5th grade web development, weren't perma banned. Yoshi doesn't believe in perma banning XIV players unless by policy you get banned 3 times or it's the official forums and you hurt someone's feelings.
I'd be honest banning people for using hacks I would say fair game. However this looks like Developer Fuck Up country to me (ie. not testing your spaghetti code properly). Banning people for that is basically punishing the player-base because YOU fucked up SE. If they perma ban for this I'd say there'd be trouble over it.
I would be inclined to agree however.. this event; much like salvage in XI was attempted to be hidden from the developers. We have no original screenshot to view; date/time it was created, and check for any modifications made to the original file. For all we know the posted image, and the claims that they had attempted to contact GMs to spread awareness were all done the same day it was posted to Reddit. If people really wanted this shit fixed upon discovery, they have an OF that they quickly respond to and investigate claims of bugs and errors that they should have posted to.
I'm a firm believer this was not reported some 4 months ago and was intended to keep out of their sights for as long as possible. Someone got butt hurt in said group and was kicked and their little secret became public knowledge, that is how I believe this was leaked.
Anyone using this knew it wasn't intended. The, "its in the game! Dev's fault!" line is asinine and tired
If an ATM spits out other peoples' money, you don't get to go "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it was broken, not my fault" when the cops show up
