general consensus on day 1 of ps4 blackout beta was that pubg is done.

I was expecting more memes.

They do need to polish a few things but i already uninstalled pubg. Been waiting for something new to give it a long overdue deathblow.

(tonooneinparticularbtw)Weird how a Triple A game releasing a finished product thats not going to be in alpha/beta forever is going to smear the floor with a game thats devs seem more content throwing failed lawsuits at competitors than improving their game. No wait the opposite of that. From second hand looking in, it looks like just a better version of PUBG for sure. Having played neither but watched both you can just see the difference in quality and polish with CoDIV

So if you're into that sorta thing rejoice.

I had more fun with pubg when it was still early access. It seems like since they released it and heavily monetized it, it has gotten to be a worse product. They fix 1 thing and break 3 more every patch.

The cool thing about this is that it’s also just one part of the entire game. I bet it’s what sees the most action for a long time but you also get zombies and traditional multiplayer. I’m hoping they put some different twists on the whole battle royale eventually because as fun as it is there’s a lot of opportunity for small enhancements to completely change the game type. Stoked for this.

Picked this up due to all my local buddies being filthy console players, and I almost hate to say it but I'm having a blast with blackout

We've been playing battlefield as a group of 4 for about 8 years every Friday night, and we switched to PUBG a while back. After playing PUBG on pc regularly, playing it on console was like drinking liquid cancer. So we've been hoping for a more streamlined console BR style game, and we picked this up specifically for blackout mode. While it's far from perfect, it's a pretty damn solid console BR experience

For non battle royal modes is it strictly run and gun with automatics or does snipers actually have a place in this game?

The maps I’ve played so far were all fairly small with the largest being medium sized at best. I can say that I enjoy the maps in this one. Half of the ones I’ve played seem like remakes but the new ones aren’t overly crazy with most of them keeping to the traditional “lanes” approach without too many crossing locations. There’s maybe one or two exceptions but those are maps people seem to vote away from.

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the class system. I really just don’t like classes in call of duty. I much prefer loadouts. I think if there’s anything I really dislike about multiplayer it’s the class thing. I only play hardcore so the health regen thing being eliminated feels insignificant but I’m sure if I played the normal modes I’d be annoyed with it.

Quick scoping is definitely a thing in this game, and i think it’s easier than ever.

I enjoy the class system, but i guess because i play Crash and provide a ton of support, Recon, Ruin is way too fun, and Firebreak is my jam atm, i love nuking.

I really enjoyed the maps from CoD 4 and WaW because you could really choose anything and have fun with it. In almost all gun games I prefer sniping and absolutely loved sniper in 4. It felt so rewarding. I tried Blops 1 and Ghosts and sniping felt like you were significantly lowering your chances at winning.

I've still got to try out BF 1 which I recently bought, but I noticed this one is getting a lot of praise.

I haven't watched clips of Blackout yet so that's on the to do list when I get home. I haven't played a BF game at all really so I'm unsure of the mechanics vs CoD style. I have a feeling this game for PC isn't going down in price anytime soon.

I don't think CoD games even get put on sale until all of the season pass content is released. And the game is on Battle.net, not Steam, so I really wouldn't hold my breath.
