If there were to be Mario RPG specific stages, I would think Rose Town, Star Hill, Kero Sewers, or Booster's Tower would be more iconic offerings.

Cloud kind of gets a pass on two accounts:

1. He represents the Nintendo/Square split over Sony. Kind of a big event in a historical context.
2. For better or for worse, he is a face of JRPG's.

Goku is a great cultural and entertainment icon, but just does not fit into the gaming world in a historical sense. He is in games because of his entertainment icon status and not an entertainment icon because of his prevalence in gaming. I don't think he fits in here, but fits GREAT as an addition for titles like Tekken or even Cross Tag Battle.

There were some early NES/SNES DB games that never came state side, so it's not like Goku wouldn't have had a gaming presence with Nintendo. However, with Jump Force on the horizon, I highly doubt they'd want to share the rights on him to water down hype of that mixed universe fighter.

While I too would REALLY like Geno he does seem unlikely just being in only one game almost 20 years ago now and really not much else besides a few references here and there. However, being just how hard they seem to be working on this and how pretty much ALL the other big requests so far have been added, (Ridley, Simon) there does seem to be a chance for our little wooden friend, but trying not to get hopes too high.




Even without him this game will be fucking nuts with everything they're doing. One thing I'm slightly wondering about...

Why add a different guest "universe" just for an asst. Trophy? I mean they said he's a boss too but still. I mean I don't really think "Monster Hunter Avatar" will be another hero just seems slightly odd. Then again Monster Hunter has been doing a lot of cross over lately.

There were a ton of DB and DBZ games on the SNES that never came out state side.

Also Legacy of Goku for GBA and DS, the Budokai Tenkaichi series was a timed exclusive for the Wii, etc.

Lots of DB stuff was Nintendo proprietary. Goku's a long shot but not because of these reasons. They have almost as many entries on Nintendo stuff as FF does and we got Cloud.
