In my brief time fiddling around, id say that's accurate. A lightweight shield pressure character without being a zoner or close range at the same time is accurate too. They have pretty good offstage recover vertically and can go quite deep, but horizontally can present some issues with move delay. 1st stage bow can be fired quick, but the 2nd stage can kill or do considerable shield damage. Axe functions similar to Falcon/Warlock punch. Spear is a pretty middle line poker/damage threat. Neutral and up air seems to be main damage combo moves. No real kill throw.

Overall, decidedly middle tier with some upward movement in the right hands. Too much shield threat to be low tier, but missing just enough reliable kill threats to be dangerous to a majority of the cast.

I wouldn't take it personally if I was Nintendo though, honestly getting Square to release Cloud was a bigger get than Sora.

That was already deconfirmed. The podcast stated why they think it won't happen, not that it has happened. The podcast that people are quoting actually state they think Sora or Master Chief are going to get in, lol.

I don't play the new smash, but if Sora did get in, I'd probably pick it up.

I've given the fandom a pretty big pass since this game transcended from "Watch cute Nintendo charas beat eachother up" to "The closest thing gaming has to a museum that celebrates and preserves the history of gaming as a whole." When you start representing genres from all over and teaching the history of some of the oldest games (as well as including them; pong anyone?), you've kinda opened the door for the fans to present a massive wishlist.

Its a smart gesture from Sakurai, though.
