I could swallow this a whole lot easier if Disney had just fired him because these tweets were uncovered. But they consciously kept him on years ago.

They only made a move now because of a conspiracy theory that makes think of the children soccer moms clutch their pearls. It's capitulation and appeasement to a dangerous segment that doesn't need empowerment.

I understand Disney's commercial decision, I just don't agree with it. From what I understand, these tweets were already dealt with and apologized for a long time ago, but now, some radio guy who had done similar shit is out to get Gunn because he's anti-Trump.

I'm more upset than I should be, tbh.

the Tweets in question were not widely known or publicly dealt with. the controversy you're referring to was in 2012 over a blog post of his titled 'The 50 Superheroes You Most Want to Have Sex With' that was littered with casual homophobia and misogyny. nothing too egregious he apologized quickly and all moved on.

him talking about cumming on his own face to a video about pubescent girls posted on his blog by a convicted pedophile certainly makes me wonder if the LAPD is looking at getting a warrant for his computers. really can't say either way, it all seems just like tryhard edging and the video in question is long gone, but that specific facet raises some eyebrows.

More than likely he has a team of s-tier lawyers working to prevent this. I’ve secured warrants and magistrate authorizations to seize all digital media with less in the context of possible pedophilia.
