Yeah I'm probably just not used to Spiderman lasting more than 3 movies before a reboot. Tom Holland will still look like a kid when he's 40.

Infinity War has Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Falcon, War Machine, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, and Mantis, fits in a supporting cast of Thunderbolt Ross, Ned Leeds, Okoye, Shuri, M'Baku, Heimdall, Loki, the Collector, Red Skull, Pepper Potts, and Wong, and introduces Eitri the dwarf, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, and Ebony Maw, all while being told mostly from the view of Thanos, and it all works.

Spider-Man: Homecoming already established the Vulture and the Shocker while setting up Scorpion. If Spider-Man 2 gives us Mysterio while retaining those and laying groundwork for someone like Kraven or Electro then we're pretty much only one Dr. Octopus-centered movie away from having the full team assembled and no arduous backstory required for a movie about them.

They've proven they're tremendous at accomplishing this. Your doubts are ill-placed.

I'll just devil's advocate and say this is being done by Sony, not Marvel, so any comparison between them is moot.

That being said, I have faith they could do a sinister 6- if that's even what they're doing. They might just be going for main spidey villains that haven't been done in the movies before. And it like to think Sony's already learned the lesson shoving too much into a movie that wrong way.

Marvels deal with Sony gives them pretty much all creative control over the homecoming films, Sony just pays for, distributes the films and still retains the rights to the characters.

Yeah it's Sony, but Marvel is at the wheel. No need to rush Sinister 6. Marvel can take their time. They aren't desperate for a cinematic universe. I'm sure they'll have Spidey around for at least as long as Tony Stark has been.

I would be surprised if having the time to build to a Sinister Six movie wasn't one of the reasons they chose so young an actor to play Spider-Man.
