I agree, this show was not about everyone getting happy endings. It had a good enough ending for me that I was satisfied with how it ended, it does not need to be expanded on anymore since most people would just be comparing it to the first series. Even if it gets a new cast of characters it is going to end up being "this new character vs this other one from original series" and this series does not need that.
Given that the first series was a bunch of young rebels who are trying to shake up the status quo against a giant government who controls the media and has access to illegal weapons and etc, etc, how the first series ending was pretty much how it would have happened in the real world lol. It worked because it was disappointingly realistic, even if people watching IBO liked it or not.
There's still a lot they could do with IBO, but ultimately I'm just reminded of 00 where the 1st season was amazing and ended on a bittersweet note, but season 2 kind of undid that.
The worst thing they could do with IBO season 2 is make it like most other mainline Gundams. Between this and Thunderbolt I'm liking the darker more serious/realistic tone.
They have new types of AV systems so they could def do a sequel on gjallarhorn years later. I liked most of the gjallarhorn pro/antagonists by the end of the show, especially the commander even though his name eludes me atm. Def one of the more interesting characters they've made in awhile but too bad they couldn't give him more time.

I think I might be in the minority that didn't like the ending of IBO. The epilogue was so bad and way too positive for everything that preceded it, it kinda invalidated everything else about the ending for me.
New Gundam set after Unicorn

Rumor is that this will get an English Sub in 2019.The film is part of the overarching Gundam series, gaining heavy influences from Phoenix Hunting, the 11th novel in the Gundam Unicorn series. The screenplay was written by Harutoshi Fukui, who also wrote both the book and manga series, as well as featuring character designs from four artists who have all extensively worked on at least a couple different Gundam series: Kumiko Takahashi, Hajime Katoki, Se Jun Kim, and Eiji Komatsu.
The film takes place after the events of the manga and book series, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, and no spoilers here, but just one year after that series ended, the Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex re-emerges.
Melodrama in this show is so lol. God forbid if they ever had a server down maintenance.
Yeah I watch this for fan service but lately it's just shitty character drama.
Seems like a pretty simple problem honestly.
Yeah, I enjoy the fights and the mech designs and etc, but it's really really really hard to take the story seriously lol
I love how everyone who plays this game is ignoring the fact that they've created the first(?) artificial life.
The english dub of Unicorn has been added to Netflix.
Edit: It's the OVA series, not the re-edit Toonami had.
