Wheels coming off
Wheels coming off
Never seen the perds this undisciplined before.
rip; hell of a game nonetheless
Hmmm.
Yep.
Pekka Rinne being a baby or what? Dope game. Go jets.
The jaw is obviously part of the neck and not the head though, so Good Guy Tom Wilson will avoid suspension once again. Who knows how the concussion happened.
He initially seems to hit him in the chest/shoulder, but after the contact he leaves his feet and drives through his jaw/head. I wish Tom didn't drive though the hit as that was the dirtiest part of it.
I've said for years the NHL needs to do shit about headshots and other dirty hits, especially after Cooke ended Savard's career but they time and again refuse to enforce real punishments(1-5 games is a slap). I find it kind of hilarious Penguin fans across the internets are outraged after they defended Cooke forever but I would bet DOPS will listen to the pleas and suspend him. I was shocked they didn't for the Dumoulin hit, even though Dumoulin clearly turned his head and body into Wilson to avoid Ovi.
I hope Tom can learn to control himself better, because he is actually starting to become a quality Top 6 Two way player and I don't want to see him be a Matt Cooke/Brad Marchand hated jackass for the rest of his career. I do think he was labeled as dirty, way too quickly in his career and while he does have bad hits on his resume, he also gets shit on for hits that are just hard as fuck and not dirty.
btw, got to love Letang trying to trip Ovi after the GWG.
Welp, I wasn't able to watch either of the games tonight, and it looks like I missed 2 phenomenal games.
Wilson to have hearing

Wow, didn't realize Ovi hit the post then Crosby'd the deflection in the net. Saw a replay last night and thought he just potted it directly off the pass. Nice hands.
And I really hate losing in the playoffs, straight up ruins the next day.
Jim Montgomery is the stars new coach
Tom Wilson is not a quality top 6. If you're satisfied with 35 points from a top 6 player you're setting the bar pretty low. As to the Matt Cooke comment. The majority of folks that were vocal about Cooke weren't defending him. You can't defend the indefensible. The league, rightfully, used Cooke as the example. And for a very short time we saw head shots handled seriously. We're now back to the wheel of justice days.
My thing is a shoulder to shoulder doesn't produce a broken jaw and a concussion. Wilson left his feet and as you stated, drove through the check. He's now injured 3 people in 2 series with questionable/predatory hits.
