I'd even buy two sets of joycons if each set came with half of the color I want, but apparently I'd never be able to get that blue on a right joycon so fml I guess

Yeah the dual color is an odd choice. Glad I have dull AF gray.
Give it a week, I'm sure someone somewhere on the internet will color match the tone and youll be able to paint it.
Waiting for official release of transparent purple like my old GBC.
An FFT-inspired RPG coming August 14th. It released back in April for PC, PS4, & Xbox.
If you bust it then you're out a little extra money. Its It's honestly really easy, I've changed the shell out on my joycons from the neon to the atomic purple like my old gb color and the hardest part was getting the right bits from my ifixit kit to get the job done.
My biggest worry is breaking something if I tried that. I'm horrible with trying to snap ribbon cables back in place and normally pop that clasp off.
Lawsuit against Nintendo now for the joycon drift issues: https://www.siliconera.com/2019/07/2...joy-con-drift/
Wonder if that'll push them to actually address the issues. It's not just Joycons either, the pro controller has some similarly shitty issues that aren't being talked about as much and is equally expensive.
Never heard anything about the pro controller other than the D-Pad being either great or shit.
It has similar stick drift issues if it gets dusty/dirty enough. Something about the contacts inside being fairly exposed. Seen it time and time again from the guys I follow for Splatoon content.
That's a big yikes. Thankfully mine hasn't yet.
Same, they're pretty hit or miss but thankfully mine's been solid. I know people that have had to take theirs apart for a cleaning to fix it on 3 or more occasions.
But yeah hopefully if Nintendo gets a kick in the ass for this hopefully they'll offer replacements. I know there's been a ton of vids on the subject but can't remember if there was a definitive reason as to why they're defective.
