Both of my OG joy cons got this issue. (Right and left sticks). The rubber grip also bubbled up.
Bought another set of joy cons and replacement thumb sticks. (And a pro controller)

Surprised this hasn't been posted, but Nintendo will now fix the joycon drift for free. If you paid for a repair, they will refund you.

I forgot to post about that this afternoon. Totally getting my refund back.
I don't know/remember if mine drift. Might send them in anyway if it's free lol.
Anyone running Android or going to be running Android on their switch soon?
I'll probably mess with it. I actually bought a second switch (only 80 bucks after selling the dock and joycons) for hacking and never touched it since.
I'm sure you did but you did check the serial to make sure it'll work right? I know models after a certain date have issues.
Mine was a day one and it seems like there isn't really any risk at all with the new exploit I just don't know what it is really good for in my case. I don't really play emulators or ROMs anymore, but I do have a Nvidia shield Tv and access to GeForce now so if there is some way to play any of my PC or steam library mobile it would be epic.
Oh no my friend, not at all. And it's a fucking sd card exploit and it never touches the internal memory.
Basically the best thing ever if your switch is a serial number made before a certain date, there's a link to check on the thread as well.

No. You boot the Switch via a bootloader injection exploit through the Tegra RCM (recovery mode), similar to fastboot on an Android device. The Linux/Android system boots from SDCard and never touches the Switch's internal memory, so it has no recollection of running another OS when you boot back into the Switch OS.
So you're basically doing the mobile equivalent of booting from a flash drive a la trying a new Linux distro. Right?
To simplify it, yeah pretty much. Basically I'm going to buy another sd card just for this and insert it when ever I want to load Android on my switch. Think like another boot drive on your PC.
And after reading further yes it will basically turn my switch info a Shield tablet and since I have a Shield TV and GeForce Now I will be able to game stream and use GeForce Now on my switch.
Hello PC games at work on a handheld.
I’m likely gonna get a revised switch down the line since my current switch is a launch model. How easy/seamless is it to transfer everything now? Do i just move the sd card to the other switch? Gonna take my old switch fully offline and screw around with the firmware.
finally opened my Switch last Friday and fuckin' butchered the screen protector application
i want another go, who has that goodgood screen protector?
This is the one I got for my Switch. I also went with the same brand for my Fire tablet due to how much I liked it. Easy to apply and they include everything to make sure the screen is clean before applying.

That's the one I have too. It's really nice and it's a 2 pack so if you screw it up badly you have another shot at it.
Thirding the AmFilm tempered glass. Cleanest screen guard install I have ever done on any device, is just thick enough that it doesn't rub against the dock, and is easy to clean.
