People were walking out with luggage too...a thought is that more people died than probably should have because people were taking time to get their luggage/carry-on
Any time half the people die in an airplane situation you know some truly harrowing shit went down.

Delta Airlines is trying to persuade workers from joining a union by telling them their money would be better spent on video games and sporting events.
So what's the message there?
I mean it seems like the message is don't join a union or you'll be put to death by his Grace Ed Bastian long may he reign, but I don't think that was the intended message?
The image in the thread is satire based on the original anti-union dues ads. Basically they all said something to the effect of "Union dues are 700 dollars a year, you should spend your money on this disposable enjoyment insead (beer, video games, baseball tickets were some of the examples).
The message in the ad in the thread is spend your money on a guillotine so they can execute corporate level executives for suggesting they spend their money on something other than union fees.
Woah now they just suggested to share some brews don't go full tankie.

F-16 crashes into a warehouse in Perris, CA.
Filming for the new True Lies movie has gone off the rails.
That F-16 was armed with live ordinance. Shut down a freeway for nearly 24 hours causing absolute hell for logistics since that region is a major supply center.
They blew up the ordinance yesterday in an open field.

More on the Boeing 737 MAX crashes.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/30/p...g-737-max.html
I listen to this every day on spotify, today was about the plane crashes.
Basically, the FAA began shifting more of the routine processes involved with certification to Boeing.
At some point, the directive was given for FAA's engineers to defer to Boeing on the certification process of their planes.
The expertise retained at the FAA continued to diminish over time as a result of these processes required for safety certification becoming viewed as routine and pushed off to Boeing for self-approval, and due to the outcry from experienced FAA engineers that giving Boeing this authority was not safe.
That just reinforced the mentality of engineers at the FAA that they should refer to Boeing, as many of them were just out of college or had come from other unrelated industries, as there was a severe talent shortage.
Boeing gained complete control of the FAA's certification process for their planes and self-approved their own MCAST flight system as safe, which was the ultimate cause of both fatal crashes.
Good old fashioned regulatory capture.
They'll regulate themselves!
What's the worst that could ha- ...oh.
Now on top of the usual airport frustrations, long delays, losing your luggage, etc. you get to be insulted too! ^^;
