Yeah, it's supposed to be an endgame activity, so it's intentionally difficult. I believe it's designed for a coordinated team of three, with the expectation that anyone extra there is nice, but not necessary (think of things like Archon's Forge or Court of Oryx at first versus later on, but on a greater scale in terms of difficulty). Also, the first reward chest is after wave 3 (I'm not sure if they spawn after every wave after that, or at specific intervals though..), so you didn't miss out on anything.

And apparently you can call a sparrow on Meltdown, so yeah, that's a thing?

The Contender's Shell perk "Seeker of Brilliance" now properly grants Season 3 Prototype Engrams (Was incorrectly granting Season 2 Illuminated engrams)

Sandbox
Fixed an issue where Rat King was incorrectly granting ammo to alternate weapons

Destiny Companion API
Fixed an issue where players were unable to interact with their Characters or Inventory on Bungie.net, the Destiny Companion App, or 3rd party apps

General
Fixed an issue causing frame rate issues on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro

No update on crucible matchmaking, so comp is still 'enter at your own risk' for solo players.

We're actively investigating an issue where Clan XP Milestones grant low power rewards.

Until resolved, players can work around the issue by not collecting the Milestone from Hawthorne. At weekly reset the Milestone will auto-decrypt directly to inventory with a powerful reward.
