Got some older family members relocated out of North Hanover co, NC. It's a mess out there and if you aren't already out, then get out now.

Wife went to Harris Teeter last night at like 12:30am (she works second) not a single fuckin piece of bread left in that bitch.
NPR has a couple graphics that show this could hit the coastline anywhere between 2am & 8am ET on Friday.
NWS says 2am ET on Friday;
NC coastline is expected to see a 9ft storm surge (waves)
9 foot storm surge would cause a lot of damage, but would actually be very far off from the worst storm there.
edit: Some predicting 20ft surge, this would be a total catastrophe, the worst in NC history

For whatever reason that page comes up as a white screen at my work. Weather Channel appears to have the same information;

This is what a 14ft storm surge from Hurricane Hugo did to Garden City, SC;

State of Emergency declared in Washington DC.
Why? No way in hell DC is affected for more than a day as Trump and repubs wont stand for wall to wall news coverage of DC looking like New Orleans after a dam broke. DC is the safest place in the path of this storm.

A quick glance at the history on hurricanes in NC doesn't show any hurricane this strong hitting the Carolinas in quite awhile. A direct hit by a 4 or 5 is GG apparently. Peace out homies, I barely knew ya. Hope your home is on a hill and come home to nothing but a watered lawn.

Hazel in 1956 was the only cat 4 to hit NC. It was catastrophic. Florence is stronger.
