Atlantic hurricane season officially begins on June 1st, but there is a possible tropical storm already brewing in the Gulf of Mexico ready to shit on Memorial Day weekend.
First named storm of the season arrives before June 1st. Sub-tropical storm Alberto is out circulating in the Gulf of Mexico and expected to bring heavy rains across the southeast US this weekend into early next week.
WOOOOOOO MONSOON SEASON BOIS
Puerto Rico's Death Toll from Hurricane Maria has been Updated: 4645, US Gov's Previous Official Number was 64

That's so last season.
Fucking sad there’s been absolutely little to mention of this when it dwarves the death toll of Katrina.
Considering most people don't even know that PR folks are US citizens, I'm not surprised at all.
Also doesn't help that the U.S. government was underreporting the death count and keeping it at 60ish.
And our new hellworld news cycle that is dominated by our president saying or doing something dumb every other day w/ the occasionally stand in sickkick.
Its really disgusting tho. The wife had friends who she couldn't contact for weeks.
Looks like we got our first named Pacific storm system. Aletta poses no threat to any land and is tracking west. Also a new disturbance has popped up south of Guatemala which has a low possibility of forming into a Tropical Storm.
Hurricane Bud (Cat4) is Wrecking Havoc in Mexico

Wildfires have started on Maui
Heard on the radio this morning of people talking about how areas that were once playgrounds are now rivers.
Hurricane Lane expected to be fucking up Hawaii today and tomorrow as a Category 3 or 2 storm. Hawaii is just having a rough year.
Has already dropped 30in of rain in places.
I live on Maui and the hurricane isn't as bad as it's being reported on CNN. Right now it's the usual strong winds, road closures, and power outages. Oh... the west side of the island was on fire for most of the day but it seems contained. Still, the worst is yet to come apparently.
edit: oh i should disclose I'm in the Makawao area which on Haleakala's slope, down near the shore is probably underwater.
Tropical Storm Gordon expected to make landfall tonight near Pensacola/Mobile. Looks to be more rain heavy than high winds. Hurricane Florence out in the Atlantic is tracking NW and could become an issue for New England/Canada in the next week, but still to early to tell on that front.
Yup.. loving the typhoons out here, especially Jebi
