It is funny that it is now cannon that the first people out of the vault nuked the capital wasteland into what it is in F3.

Did they say what kind of quests the Overseer was going to give? Could they not be story line related?

    Press Release
    Spoiler: show

Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced Fallout® 76 will be available November 14, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system, and PC.

Bethesda Game Studios, award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, today revealed Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a real person. Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, players will experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.

Reclamation Day, 2102. Twenty-five years after the bombs fall, you and your fellow Vault Dwellers—chosen from the nation’s best and brightest – emerge into post-nuclear America. Play solo or join together as you explore, quest, build, and triumph against the wasteland’s greatest threats.

“We’ve been asked forever to bring multiplayer to one of our worlds,” said Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda Game Studios. “And once we had this idea, we knew it was perfect for Fallout. It’s great to finally share this game and this world with everyone.”

Be one of the first to emerge into a new and untamed wasteland. Pre-order Fallout 76 and receive access to the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application). The B.E.T.A. will begin first for Xbox One players, followed by other platforms. To learn more about the B.E.T.A., visit fallout.com for more details.

Bethesda also announced the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition – a premium collector’s edition – available for pre-order now through participating retailers across the globe. In addition to the highly-anticipated game, the Power Armor Edition includes:

    • Full-Scale Wearable T-51 Power Armor Helmet with West Tek Canvas Carrying Bag: This wearable helmet faithfully replicates the in-game model and comes complete with voice modulator speaker, functioning LED head lamp, and custom V.A.T.S. sound feature.

    • Glow-in-the Dark World Terrain Map: This physical, fully-colorized 21”x 21” glow-in-the-dark vintage map showcases the six distinct regions of West Virginia complete with irradiated landmarks, towns, and wildlife.

    • 24 Collectible Fallout Figurines: Crafted from in-game 3D models, these detailed miniatures bring Fallout 76’s Vault Dwellers, Power Armored Soldiers, Creatures, and more to life.

    • Tricentennial Steelbook: Exclusive to the Power Armor Edition, this decorated metal case is the ultimate collectible celebrating America’s 300 years of freedom.

    • Tricentennial Edition Bonus In-Game Items: Commemorate the opening of Vault 76. Be the talk of the town when you emerge from Vault 76 fully prepared and patriotically styled in the new American frontier. Includes Tricentennial power armor customization, weapon customization, patriotic Uncle Sam outfit, and more.

    • Access to Fallout 76 B.E.T.A.: Be one of the first to emerge into a new and untamed wasteland.

    About Fallout 76

Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4, welcome you to Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a real person. Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you’ll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.

    Key Features

    • You will Emerge! – Multiplayer finally comes to the epic open world RPGs of Bethesda Game Studios. Create your character with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system and forge your own path in a new and untamed wasteland with hundreds of locations. Whether you journey alone or with friends, a new and unique Fallout adventure awaits.

    • Mountain Splendorland! – All-new graphics, lighting and landscape technology brings to life six distinct West Virginia regions. From the forests of Appalachia to the noxious crimson expanses of the Cranberry Bog, each region offers its own risks and rewards. Post-nuclear America has never looked so beautiful!

    • A New American Dream! – Use the all-new Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform (C.A.M.P.) to build and craft anywhere in the world. Your C.A.M.P. will provide much-needed shelter, supplies, and safety. You can even set up shop to trade goods with other survivors. But beware, not everyone will be quite so neighborly.

    • The Power of the Atom! – Go it alone or with fellow survivors to unlock access to the ultimate weapon – Nuclear Missiles. This destruction also creates a high-level zone with rare and valuable resources. Do you protect or unleash the power of the atom? The choice is yours.

    • B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) Access! – Be one of the first to emerge! Pre-order and get access to the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A.

Not coming to Steam. Will only be available through the Bethesda launcher. Bethesda says Valve takes too high of a cut on sales.

Welp, definitely not playing it now. See ya.

Ugh while I can't say I definitely won't be playing, that makes it even harder to get me to play when I was already on the fence. The only reason I'd even want to play this is with friends. If we'd all have to get some new game library system for what, one game? It's probably not going to happen.

Who the fuck plays Overwatch? lol.

  19. #79

They are not freaking out, they are showing a company that they don't want 30 different launchers for their games, and thus 30 different systems they have to manage to keep in contact with their friends. Blizzard, Orgin, Steam, etc is already too much. If companies see that their sales are not impacted by building their own platform to push their bottom line, others will follow.

Good point, this game is doomed for failure.
