Years have passed since the events of Devil May Cry 4, and a lot has happened. Young demon hunter Nero has lost his Devil Bringer demon arm… but hey! He’s now heading his own branch of the demon-hunting business Devil May Cry. To make up for that lost arm, and keep his style rankings up, he’s enlisted the help of expert craftswoman Nico, a brand new character in the series, to lend a hand and build different types of prosthetic arms that unlock new badass combat abilities and devastating powers.
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.

Following the reveal at Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, Capcom reached out with a press release with the first information and plenty of visual assets of Devil May Cry 5.
First of all, we get an overview of the game
“A brand new entry in the legendary over-the-top action series comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in Spring 2019, complete with its signature blend of high-octane stylized action and otherworldly and original characters the series is known for. Director Hideaki Itsuno and the core team have reunited to create the most over the top, technically advanced, utterly insane action experience of this generation.
Years have passed since the legions of hell have set foot in this world, but now a new demonic invasion has begun, and humanity’s last hope will rest in the hands of three lone demon hunters, each offering a radically different play style. United by fate and a thirst for vengeance, these demon hunters will have to face their demons in the hope to survive.”
Following is the feature list:
Legendary action series returns – The 16 million unit selling series is back with original Director Hideaki Itsuno at the helm of development.
A battle of good and evil – A demonic invasion begins with the seeds of a “demon tree” taking root in Red Grave City. This hellish incursion attracts the attention of the young demon hunter, Nero, an ally of Dante who now finds himself without his demonic arm, the source of much of his power. The supernatural family drama also continues as Dante, the Son of Sparda, seeks revenge for his brother’s corruption and mother’s murder.
High octane stylized action – Featuring three playable characters each with a radically different stylish combat play style as they take on the city overrun with demons.
Groundbreaking graphics – Developed with Capcom’s in-house proprietary RE engine, the series continues to achieve new heights in fidelity with graphics that utilize photorealistic character designs and stunning lighting and environmental effects.
Take down the demonic invasion – Battle against epic bosses in adrenaline fueled fights across the over-run Red Grave City.
Demon hunter – Nero, one of the series main protagonists and a young demon hunter who has the blood of Sparda, heads to Red Grave City to face the hellish onslaught of demons, with weapons craftswoman and new partner-in-crime, Nico.
I don't get the hate. It looks decent. I didn't hate Nero, so that could be why. Frame rate wise, it looked like shit, but it's DMC, so I'm sure it'll be 60 in the end.
Nero is just basic for most DMC fans, he isn't a bad character to play game play wise (he's a good starter, strong moves for basically no input, parry/counter buttons etc) and just trigger sword slashes add a degree of skill that doesn't overwhelm.
But he's still a basic bitch compared to Dante or SE Vergil. They could probably fix a lot of Nero's issues if they just give him ONE more weapon set.
My main issue with Nero is that he's a whiny bitch, and that's not very fun. His personality seems to be Dante-lite now which is fine but holy fuck that side girl is gonna be the worst.
I can’t seem to find any info whether to confirm or deny this entry is either in-house, or outsourced to Ninja Theory again? Yeah I know Itsuno is back at the director helm, but they don’t say much other than that. And the character designs unfortunately seem very similar to DmC. Which I hope isn’t indicative of their involvement.
EDIT: apparently Microsoft bout NT? Nice if that’s the case.
it me, your boy that has never played a devil may cry. can't wait to start with this one YES
Play DMC 3, you get weapons by killing monsters so badly these giant murder beasts say "damn that dude is good at murder I have to get in on that" and one of them is a vampire chick that turns into an electric guitar.
i thought Devil May Cry was named Dante. who the fudge is this Nerdo
The original Donte.
that doesnt seem right
To be slightly more serious he's a new character they added in 4 and people hated him because he wasn't Dante, but of course this was before DmC which proved that Nero wasn't all that bad.
DmC = Devil May Dubstep.
sounds like the perfect game. i will star tthere
Ninja Theory douchebags would tell you DmC is the cool Donte for the western audience with a script so Shakespearean its meta.
So cool! I’m still surprised there isn’t a dlc alt for Donte rocking a man bun.
I laugh every time I hear Shakesperean, because that's exactly what someone said during the development.
I mean don't get me wrong, I played through it and enjoyed it for what it was.
But I still laugh at lines like:
"The world is now your bitch. And so am I."
