That out of the way, this looks amazing, am hype for it. I liked the part where he just literally turns his Motorcycle into weapons, or uses it as a weapon, like jeez.

I guess there is the silver lining it's nothing locked behind a paywall? I mean it sounds like you can get everything without paying. It's basically just Overwatch buy crates. Though I do agree this does seem kind of selfish and stupid. However I guess it's better than the standard price of games going up because of increasing costs to make.

The exact same thing was in DMC4 SE, and no one even noticed.

I doubt they will do anything really stupid in this case, but I don't think that's a good example since base DMC4 wasn't built with microtransactions in mind. If they nerfed red orb acquisition in the remaster while at the same time implementing a way to purchase them for real money, people definitely would have noticed and it would have been a PR nightmare.

Well won’t be getting a preorder from me, I’ll wait to see how intrusive this is. And any of you that don’t think the game will be balanced around being so grindy it’ll funnel people to the microtransactions is a naive fucking twat. Just like every game that’s had the “player choice” included, once it’s removed the game needs massive rebalancing to compensate because surprise the grind is unreasonable without money.

Remember when player choice was a cheat code and not a credit card?

Anyway you guys still free to rock out I just won’t be defending this or supporting it, y’all go ahead and convince yourself of whatever, I know they’ll have to do a lot worse to ruin such a loved franchises release. I hope for the best but not expecting much.

I don't think anyone can defend or support this, it's a scummy tactic that is so far removed from how action games are played it makes me wonder if they even know what kind of game they're making.

But this is Capcom, so there's a 90% chance they have no idea what they're doing.

According to the producer it's basically identical to 4SE, balanced around the microtransactions not even really existing.

It's dumb to see stuff like this slapped onto a game, but this is the age we live in and if you protest things like mtx or DRM (if you're a PC player) you're gonna find your options severely limited.
