Besides Panameme I’ve not really been convinced by any of their performances. Hope they put in a good shift today but Sweden will be very tough to break down. Surprised Rashford or Loftus-Cheek hasn’t been given a chance in the XI today but we’ll see if we can get through or live up to the thread title lol

Trippier has been the only one in midfield with the ability to really create a quality chance. I didn't even mention Henderson because he'll only be passing to Stones and Maguire.

Bottom line England are not that threatening in open play with this starting XI. They can't hold it comfortably in midfield for even brief periods, they can't work it well through the middle; the one chance that did open from the middle started from Maguire passing directly to Kane. Everything else has to touch Trippier on the right side or Young on the left, just to even move it into the attacking third. It's somewhat crude.

That said they're still dangerous on free kicks and corners with Kane, Maguire, Stones. It can probably get them through vs Sweden.

Yeah, I think they’re finding it difficult to go through the middle because Sweden are keeping their shape so well. They can outrun them on the wings but Sterling gonna Sterling. Just hope they can get that second goal before they get punished for it
