Looks like they are heading back to Europe to do additional shooting.
Kinda make me nervous.

I don't know Dune, but I will watch this for the cast alone.
Dune is a really great series overall. Some people shit on Herbert's son doing additional books with Kevin J. Anderson but the one thing they really fail to realize is that... both of them are going off of notes and outlines left by Frank Herbert.
There was an interview after Brian Herbert and Kevin J had released the first 'prequel' book (Dune: House Atredies) that he had found out his father kept a lockbox and in it was a huge folder and binder of notes and outlines for about 10 additional novels that Frank Herbert intended to write but died before he could. The prequel books have given some really good insight on what happened to lead up to the original book and then the books after Chapterhouse: Dune ending with Sandworms of Dune.
I hope this movie can actually capture that feeling.
ive always felt those house books weren't as bad as people say they are
I've still only read Dune.
Both Dune Messiah and God Emperor of Dune are legitimate stopping points? I may consider going further if so.
I appreciate that post breaking it down. I read Dune forever ago and planned to re-read/read some of the following ones when this was announced. For some reason when I bought some of them, I got the first 3. Maybe Messiah and Children were bundled/discounted together or something.
They honestly aren't. Some are not as good as others, but if you love Dune as a whole they provide good insight. People who bash em remind of the uptight SW fans who state only certain movies are awesome and the rest are shit tier. Yes, some are way better than others and some are not as good as others. But if you are a fan of the universe, you at least give em a chance and may be surpised.
Okay so when I read Dune I thought it was like pretty decent. I didn't fall in love with it. Which is why I'm wondering how far I should go with it. I'm thinking God Emperor may be a good ending point for me. I also hate cliffhangers so Chapterhouse seems like a nono based on that image.
i've read all of them and like them all, even the Brian Herbert ones. I agree though that its probably a good idea to end with Dune Messiah or God Emperor though.
Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune are the sequel books after Chapterhouse and closes up the main series. From what herbert's son stated, Frank had those two books pretty much written except for some dialogue here and there to be inserted. All the other books are based off of notes and outlines found for em by his son. If you wanted to read to the 'end' then at least hitting those two would do it for you. The first six prequel novels they did based off his notes (House Atredies, Harkonnen and Corino in addition to the Butlerian Jihad) give good insight on what leads up to the 1st book by Frank Herbert. The Butlerian trilogy also explains how the Atredies/Harkonnen hatred starts as well.

Dune teaser dropping some time this week, maybe tonight. It's attached to the theatrical release of Tenet.
