Password complexity doesn't mean shit anymore. People are not brute-forcing their way into systems lol, that's some old shit. Two-factor is the only thing really keeping shit together, Avoid SMS if possible and use an app as that is more secure. Either way, two-factor is better than any password manager and most sites that matter has it. I personally use DUO mobile as it works with most sites and you don't need 50 apps.

I'm sure this is nice to test, but there are a few old passwords that i know were on some dark web forums that didn't show up on this site. I'm guessing this only has the data breaches that were publicly released?

I believe so. I know my oldest password I use for shit I don't care about (hi2u livejournal) is on there. If you remove the /passwords it will go to the main site so you can check e-mail addresses. My main one is on there, which is no surprise with the amount of spam I get, really need to create a new gmail), but the real kicker is my e-mail address for my previous agency I worked for came up as showing up once, which means a vendor of ours got compromised.

well, their security is their selling point so if they are breached and it turns out to be negligence on their part, i'd have immediate legal recourse. that's more than can be said for when randos are breached and lose your info.


there are other benefits. it's one of those things where i researched the problem, found a solution, and then promptly forgot all the research.

I haven’t done any holiday shopping and honestly no interest in doing so. Already bought myself a makeup collection I wanted , went to Vegas with Hubby and got him a Nintendo switch so we are set. Brother and sister in law are facing divorce so she’s off the list , no other family to really buy for aside from father in law and mother in law and they just moved to a new house and have enough stuff so maybe a bottle of wine and gift card.

I’m kind of over the holidays to begin with as it seems like an excuse to get together because it’s expected. I think I’m getting old because I’d rather just say home and play video games or work overtime than deal with the stress of it all.

Many of friends I had actually disassociated with me once they had kids assuming I wouldn’t want anything to do with them since I don’t have any nor any interest in kids. That isn’t true and I’m understanding of their responsibility and it actually sucks losing those relationships as well.
Now it’s even harder finding friends to make this late in life.

This shit really does suck. We don't have kids, nor have any plans on having any. We used to have a group that went out at the very least once a month to keep in touch and have some fun. It has been over 6 months now. The last time we tried half the group was busy (3 of them were in different parts of the country). We (hopefully) will meet the weekend before Christmas which was planned out two months ago because it takes that much time to plan this shit now.

my D&D group is awesome and we play every week. get wasted, have adventures. p much RL FFXI without the catgirls or casinos.

i also watch soccer with a big group of people. good way to make new friends too.

between those two and my other seasonal stuff like snowboarding and fishing, i meet plenty of folks. i've had lower levels of interaction with my core group of friends from HS and college because we're all spread out and some have kids but we manage to get together once or twice a year. otherwise we just text and call.

yep. same here. i mean, my group has been able to maintain close contact because i'm the one that lives furthest away and i'm only 20 miles out, but it's still difficult to coordinate 7 busy lives. especially with several of us dealing with health problems like mine.


but hobby groups have set aside time specifically for that hobby. my fiancee and i attend a Pathfinder game every wednesday evening. One of our group recently moved a couple hours away, so we've rigged up a virtual tabletop so that he can play remotely. This helps us as well so when we feel like shit we can just play from home.


that's the big hobby we're into right now, other than vidya, but there are others i'd be interested in. One of our Pathfinder friends runs a drone club that meets up to race drones. Be fun to do that, even though my only drone is a giant slow camera-focused drone, not a racer. I used to volunteer for FIRST Lego League, which involved hanging out with children, not peers, but was still fun.

I have plenty of hobbies when I’m back home in VA. I love to go fishing too but that ain’t exactly feasible on a December night in the upper west side of Manhattan.

It was a Saturday night where they couldn’t make it last minute unfortunately. No more of that spontaneity. I would’ve gone to a sports bar myself and tried to calling all of them within a reasonable distance. Nobody seems to wanna show boxing anymore. Me and my friends almost always link up to watch fights whenever I’m back in the city. This time just kind of caught everyone off guard.

Still sick, but crawled into work anyway. I'm here by myself so I wont be re-infecting my coworkers who got me sick to begin with. I was the last person to get it, and when you work with six people in what amounts to a large closet when you get a cold, its everybody's cold.
