Meaning besides the 8 years its been since the 3rd movie came out? This movie and this series has been through hell with production issues. I'm also wondering who has the English rights to this and who will be the cast now, the original series/past movies actors or the new Netflix cast.

Do the movies go through full storyline or is just extracurricular theological masturbation unrelated to the main plot?

We don't know. The 3 movies so far have led us to believe that it could be a retelling with tweaks or it's a sequel to the main series and everything is happening again but differently. The 4th movie will tell, we hope.

I subscribe (because I want it) to the it's a sequel theory.

At this point it's going to be a longer span between the 3rd movie and the 4th than between EoE and the first reboot.
*looks it up* 10 years between EoE and 8~ish years between Movie 3 and Movie 4. So...close to it.

Also, throw me in for the whole 3rd movie was bullshit club. A spectacle isn't a spectacle if you have no fucking idea what's going on because you lack access to the supporting media.

Nah. There's a whole bunch of differences taking place even in the first 2. By the end of the second one I was so hype because it seemed clear that the story was changing.

And then that fucking 3rd movie happened.

Whatever, once its closer I'm planning to marathon the show and then the 3 movies in preparation for this.
