I didn't realize that stuff was up there, that's pretty great. Even gives more insight into the mention of why they dropped a nuke on Godzilla in the 40s, not to mention sets up where every monster will be at the beginning of KotM.

I don't think I can make clear enough that I don't give a shit about any story in these movies beyond seeing these monsters fight. I've known their backstories for 30 years, anything past the fighting is 100% superfluous to me.
