I've had the original King Kong vs Godzilla for a while but never watched it. I should watch it tonight. And rewatch all my old Godzilla movies while I'm at it.

Yes, this is gonna be in modern times.

Kinda needs to be, Kong wasn't fully grown in that and he was about 100 ft. Godzilla is 355ft so Kong has some growing to do if he's gonna fight.

They did emphasize how much larger this Kong is already. In 1933, 1975, and 2005, Fay Wray, Jessica Lange, and Naomi Watts were all pictured being held in Kong's hand. In those films, they were all depicted as being large enough relative to Kong to hold on to his forefinger while still having their legs dangling out underneath his hand. In 2016, Kong gets hold of Brie Larson and is able to completely envelop her such that she fits comfortably in his palm while he fights the Skullcrawlers without any body parts being exposed. So the original depiction of Kong is around 50 feet (though in 1962 for the first King Kong vs. Godzilla he was more like 150, as Godzilla was smaller back then as well, about 164 ft/50 meters high), meaning that this will be by far the largest Kong ever seen if he intends to stand up to Godzilla.
