Sounds like two unnamed LSU football players were involved in a fatal shooting. Two players were reportedly meeting a third man to sell them something from Craigslist, the other guy pulled a "weapon" on them, one of the LSU players then shot him repeatedly and killed him. Police have not charged the players and said they believe they acted in self defense.

Three Alabama players, including starting offensive lineman Deonte Brown, did not travel with the team to Miami and will not compete against Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Capital One Orange Bowl on Saturday.

Reserve Elliot Baker, an offensive lineman and Kedrick James, a tight end, were the other two suspended players.

The three players were suspended "due to a violation of team rules and policies," coach Nick Saban said in a statement released to the media on Monday night.

Star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence was among three Clemson players who tested positive for a banned substance earlier this month, coach Dabo Swinney told reporters Monday.

Lawrence and the two other players -- backup offensive lineman Zach Giella and freshman tight end Braden Galloway -- had a "sliver" of a substance called ostarine in their test samples, Swinney said.

"We do have an issue that we're dealing with," Swinney told reporters. "And, you know, I think that the best thing is to just be transparent in that."

He said he expects B-sample test results, which would determine the players' eligibility for the game, to be available Wednesday or Thursday. The B-samples are secondary tests to weed out false positives.
