The special was entertaining. I think the politics/messaging of it sucked and I think they undermined the point they were trying to make. "Pandering is stupid and makes no sense!" vs. "It really is Cartman!". idk, the bitching about Disney movies seems kinda silly to me.... I didnt see Lightyear but I really doubt the crux of that films merits was because of that random lesbian parent like conservatives are trying to say. But even Cartman says bitching about woke stuff is also really lazy so maybe that's more what they mean.

The bit of Randy exploring tons of universes with different combinations of clothing reminded me of all the silly alt versions in gacha games like Fire Emblem: Heroes.

I wanted them to poke fun at boomers are refusing to take 2 seconds to google tutorials how to fix stuff instead of going off on how student loan forgiveness sucks.

Pandering is dumb, and people who think that pandering in TV/shows movies is somehow destroying the world is also dumb.

Well thats the thing, the inclusion of a minority member into a cast is seen as pandering, while the exclusion of minorities is seen as the norm.

The pandering isn't adding a black woman to the cast. It's recreating Cartman/characters as a black woman and the studio execs acting like they've broken new ground by doing so is what is the pandering/lazy bit.

i.e. the weird Hollywood trend of recasting characters who are historically gingers

I really think it depends on the character. But its funny we get more backlash with Disney Princesses. I don't remember anyone complaining about Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
