Aaaaaaand smackdown wins this week again.
Great wrestler but a gigantic piece of shit as a human. The way he tortured his wife in his later years was sickening.
Obligatory FUCK WWE because they are trying to take that precious time-splitter KUSHIDA away from NJPW and most likely will succeed. Can't wait for 2K19 choppy choppy pee pee with Hideo Itami, Nakamura, and WON-TON.
Not sure if it was mentioned here or when it was even announced. I just happened to look at NJPW's site to see if WTL was still going/how many dates remain.
There's the final round robin show beginning in a few hours and then the finals on Sunday. Goto vs. Ibushi for the title is on Sunday, so I guess those people that wanted Ibushi vs. Ospreay may be getting it. I'm suddenly a huge Goto fan.
Matchups and scenarios for the last matches before the final:
Spoiler: show
Natalya vs Ruby Riott in a tables match has been added to TLC.
Sounds like Big Cass suffered a seizure tonight during intermission at House of Hardcore. Happened in the packed lobby surrounded by fans and other wrestlers so luckily they were able to get him help very quickly. Rough year for that dude.
Final night of WTL was pretty good. Not upset at the winners, but would've rather it went the other way. I wasn't thrilled with the 8 man tag with The Elite and I really do not like them using the YT channel music. Yeah I get it they've worked some of that stuff into the shows but we're talking about the IWGP Heavyweight champion. And I didn't like care for Kenny falling for the Taguchi spot. He should've avoided it in my opinion. Looking forward to the NEVER match, IC match, and JR HW match even though it's probably a forgone conclusion KUSHIDA is dropping it.
I was following the thread on reddit a bit rather than watching it, and rolled my eyes. Tournament result was fine. Everything else, blech.
Did they use a full song for the full entrance? Bucks use the "The Elite" part before their theme music kicked in for all 4 or 5 matches that they had in NJPW this year, so I don't see a problem with it. I don't like the faction, but I do like the idea of faction theme music. When BC started letting any idiot get his music played for mundane tag matches a couple years ago, I hated it. People hate the Suzukigun theme, but 95% of the people that complain about that are probably just crying because I guess they want to sing along with Kaze Ni Nare at home. I don't feel like logging into World to look back at old stuff, but pretty sure that as champ, Styles would only have his theme music for singles matches.
Pretty sure the only person completely immune to Taguchi's wiles is Sanada. I have no problem with a comedy wrestler falling for the pranks of another comedy wrestler.
Road to Tokyo Dome + WK13 cards are out. Nice to see the guests/part-timers getting all those prime spots!
Three highlights for the Road Shows:
1. Okada vs. Gedo in a singles match on Friday
2. Teruaki Kanemitsu is making his return. He's been out of action for 2 years, so we'll see how he stacks up in the current crop of Young Lions.
3. Makabe and Honma teaming up with Yano on Saturday
I guess there's also a Tanahashi/Ospreay vs. Omega/Ibushi match if you're into that sort of thing.
BC is working these shows, but they're not defending the 6-man titles. I don't see that as too bad a thing. They're doing a gauntlet on the pre-show for #1 contender, so at least they're not doing the "they HAVE to lose on that day" like they did with LIJ last year, or ignoring the existence like hey did during the reign preceding this.
Spoiler: show
WWE Youtube did a top 10 Singh Bros. Beatdown video.
Last week they ruined Dean's music. This week they made Seth's even worse with more Burn it Down. Great work, WWE!
Wow seth’s song is horrendous now. But lmao wwe is self aware from the last 2 weeks.
Him blaming Corbin for the worst ratings in history was hilarious at least. Complaining about how Corbin keeps booking Revival in 3 on 2 matches, when the following segment is a different 3 on 2 match is a nice touch though. At least it's equal opportunity. Heels and faces can be on both sides of the #s advantage.
Gable with the robe and trunks. So I guess their partnership will be over by the Rumble, if it even lasts to New Year's.
GLORIOUS JUSTICE!!
Wow with all the talking this week
