I'm glad they are handing out a real suspension for once but man, they really need to get consistent with their punishment.

They are pretty consistent considering the last player to have the book thrown at them was Torres, who got multiple suspensions in a short time leading up to that massive 50 game suspension.

Appeal will knock it down some I'm sure. But stunning in a good way to see DoPS actually do something right. Now they need to have consistency. Which we all know isn't happening.

2 pre-season games, 4 regular season games, 3 playoff games, 20 regular season games. Not really what I would call consistent. I get the NHL is sending a message but my issue is, they never actually back up their message.

I have no real issue with the suspension, I want Tom to change and hopefully this is the kick he needs. I honestly want longer suspensions for every hit, and more suspensions because too many players get away with dirty hits.

I think the big reason they hit him with 20 was stated simply. It's his 4th suspension in 105 game and his last suspension was only 16 games ago. This is a guy who clearly just doesn't get it.

But like we all know, consistency is not something the NHL is known for.
