What a massive overpayment, apparent one of the picks was compensation for NJD retaining some of the salary. Bruins have PLENTY of cap space.

Amped about this one; Poile getting the best of his apprentice (Fenton, former NSH AGM). Thought it would take a high-ish pick as well to get it done. Fiala has shown some explosiveness, but I think he ends up being a Colin Wilson clone: ton of potential, but never realized.

I was somewhat surprised about Simmonds; thought our pursuit of him was done after we snagged Boyle. Trade terms were fine to me as Hartman has generally been pretty meh and I'd take Simmonds presence/experience for the playoffs.

Other TDL musings:
1) GMGM just extended Stone for max term. How could Dorian not get more out of VGK for something that was clearly not a rental? Shocking to me.
2) Johansson in BOS is really weird to me.

I don't even care what the Canucks got back. I'm just so happy that Gudbranson is gone. Addition through subtraction. Now that means the Canucks can't come back next year with the exact same defense. Also this probably means Hughes now has a place in the line up when he's done in college.
