I mean, come on. Seriously. There are even rumors that some Democrats are going to vote for Kavanaugh now. Like, you all should be *totally* unsurprised at this shit.

I love your accidental usage of the word imperial there.
Glory to the Empire. May the God Emperor be with you.
I'm surprised Heiti voted no because her re-election campaign is down double digits in the latest polling.
Maybe we'll get Manchin committed to a no and the dems will actually hold their line even if Tom Perez vouched coverage.
I don't think Manchin has the balls to be the only Democrat to vote yes. If he had even one other co-conspirator I would think differently.
I would fear for my safety back home if I was in his situation and voted yes.
Are there seriously 0 senate republicans that have a close enough race coming in November to not be afraid of what this confirmation will do to them?
Supreme Court > legislative seat
If nothing else, this whole debacle has reminded me how stupid the senate is set up. How a senator from some bumfuck state with a population of tree fiddy has the same clout as those from NY, FL, TX, and CA.
securing their financial future* > legislative seat
there are only 9 Republican seats up for grabs and the states from which they hail range from blood red to still not 100% on negro franchise. Heller in Nevada is the one outlier but he how do you say, no care.
his home is West Virginia and i guarantee the majority of voters there want Kav confirmed. WV is one of the reddest, most rural states in the Union and it's kind of a miracle a Dem has even come out of there (though regional Dems have often done well there while they get slaughtered during nationals, Trump won +42).
but, he will be under a tremendous amount of party pressure to fall in line.
Dean Heller voting no will probably hurt him worse with Republicans than it will swing Jacky Rosen voters over to him.
Jeff Flake is still having issues guys

Bob Menendez isn't pleased with the FBI report.

conscience do cost Jeff
with the Senate report he doesn't have enough political cover to vote no, it would purely be a moral consideration. and i don't see that kind of ethical fortitude in Flake but i'd sure be happy to be surprised.
it's actually kind of funny, he'd be doing conservatism a long-term favor by sinking this nom asap and letting Mitch and the gang get through almost anyone else on that Federalist list. but forest trees etc.
One. 0% chance Manchin is the deciding vote to yes.
I hope you deplorables are ready for a new younger wave of Diane Feinsteins.
West Virginia was a reliable blue state in our lifetimes, but after the Clinton years and extended economic downturns, plus Democratic embrace of climate issues that are bad for the coal industry, red we go.
