VRR on PS5 supports 1080p and 4K video output but not 1440p.

That note aside, what's the word on 1440p for existing games? Upscaled 1080p or downscaled 4K? Nice addition regardless with how a lot of games target 1440p internally as the lowest dynamic-resolution tends to target.

Probably the same as Xbox Series S/X where unless there's a specific 1440p mode in the game it will just downscale the 4k mode.

So I'm finally getting around to trying to find one of these consoles (ideally the disc drive version). Any advice for hunting one down in Canada that doesn't include paying an excessive amount for a re-sell?

Playstation Direct? It's what I did and my effort for that method was basically just clicking to sign up for a chance and taking 30 seconds to do that like once a week.

The Source was where I got mine. Here in the Okanagan all three sources near me had them in stock like a year ago, not sure if that's still the case but I would call your local store just to see. They were getting regular shipments when I got mine and it seemed like people weren't even aware they were selling them.

The PS5 has been "jailbroken".

Only for version 4.03, so it's already been patched out (making this really only useful for hackers... and it's very unstable... for now).

They only have read/write kernel licked, but it's a start.

What's up with the PS4 only ACs? I never played the Chronicles ones so I'll probably check out the one, but I finally bothered to put my PS4 away a month or two back, so I guess I'm outta luck unless they manage to get those others straightened out.

Might try to squeeze in Lords of Shadow before Ragnarok. Wanted to play that a bit back, but it was one of the games that had been on Now but they removed.

I tried DQ11 twice before, didn't get all that far either time. This version of it, is it worth playing that other mode, or is that is probably more something cool for people who have already played the normal game?

I’m not sure about the Chronicles games but Syndicate on PS5 has a lot of crash/bug issues, enough that Ubisoft delisted it from the PS store for PS5 until they can fix it. If you have the PS4 disc you can still play it on PS5 if you don’t mind the issues.
