It's like Disney+ going up to what, $120?
What content on there is worth that? The last decent thing I watched was Loki and that was near 3 years ago at this point. I have it for my nieces, but at this point I don't think it's worth it.

D+ increase is even more egregious given the writers and actors strikes so there won’t be any new content for several months if not longer
At least mine is free as a part of Hulu Live
Yes, my modest Plex library continues to expand each month. Additionally, with the vast expanse of content, it seems that the practice of cycling through subscriptions will likely become more widespread.
The strategy is simple: allowing a year to pass, then subscribing for a month to efficiently catch up on all that's been missed. For instances where patience isn't a virtue, I resort to less orthodox methods to acquire immediate access. It's interesting to note that I've maintained subscriptions to nearly all these services back when their pricing was more reasonable.
Can't watch stuff right as it drops, but with how spread out content is becoming now the high seas are truly the way to go now.
Exactly. I cancelled half a year ago. Content comes out at such a snails pace that it's not worth subscribing for the convenient app when I can just save the money and high seas the episodes.
They're supposed to make these services more convenient than free content, and at first it was, but at these prices and content delays it's just not worth it. I'll wait til BG tells me a new season is starting and just download em from there. What's old is new again I guess

i only have essential and paid for the year i think in may or june so im good for a bit but ill probably keep it anyway for the $20
For as quick as folks tend to be to denounce monopolies, I feel like streaming services buck that norm. Before everyone thought they could just abandon ship from Netflix in terms of movies and TV shows, it was basically the service to have and an awesome deal for the value. Nowadays you've got subscription fatigue, never really knowing what's coming out where unless you research it specifically, and of course the possibility something you like will just get axed because it didn't do well enough in its first couple weeks.
I know there was a recent interview where YoshiP basically said it'd be nice if there was only one console to develop for. This, of course, triggered the same anti-monopoly crowd, but I frankly get where he's coming from. Gaming WOULD be better and more accessible if we didn't have buy 3 consoles and a PC every generation to get the most out of the hobby. Developers wouldn't have to devote resources to cross-platform adjustments and compatibility. Exclusives wouldn't be a thing. I don't really buy the argument that innovations would stagnate, as while the hardware end is a thing, it's still up to individual studios and their games to come up with neat ideas and execute them. And if we're being honest, for probably every 10 quirky things Nintendo does, maybe only 1 sticks. Meanwhile, we all know a lot of their games suffer due to hardware or poor QA.
That said, I'm not sure I'd trust anyone currently involved in the games industry to pull it off, at least fairly. And it's not like I'm still not for stronger regulation of gacha/lootbox and "as a service" games in general. So for now, gaming's probably gonna feel more like streaming services in terms of investment and willingness to do so.
Having multiple consoles out there stirs up competition and I like that. I don’t think we’d be where we are if there wasn’t any. Individual studio competition wouldn’t be enough as well.
In the end I believe users are benefiting from the competition, financially as well. In long term console hardware costs a fraction of the hobby itself and they individually have more than enough content that I can consume.
About streaming services….I am really very picky about the content I watch anyways. They cost A LOT of time and I choose to spend my time only 2-3 solid content a year, makes everything easier.
Pretty strong line up I must say:

Just got the update with Atmos and i must say i'm pretty let down. changing from PCM to Atmos, the dialog is like 40% of what it should be. But the second i start doing anything it is SUPER LOUD. It is like fucking TV commercials all over again. I even have my center channel maxed out to try and get more form it, but shit is unplayable for me with any games that have a story.
Great otherwise....

That two panel setup looks kinda meh, specially since one is matte and other is glossy. lol at vertical stand not being included anymore and costing $30, do they think they're Apple? XD
How many people really go vertical on their consoles?
Finally. But what is the point of the external disc drive if you aren't combining both models into one offering?
Probably combination of profit and save money on the sale of the console. So those who decide to change their mind and want the disk option can get it without having to buy a whole new console.
