Best buy canada cucked me. I got to checkout but it wouldn't confirm my payment then stuck me in a queue and at the end of the queue told me it was out of stock. Between this and the 30 series launch it seems like no one wants to take my money.
Hey tyrath

Walked in Best Buy, walked out with my ps5 AND get to see someone get escorted out.
Today has been pretty good.
Gonna need a story. When I went to pick up my XSX at Gamestop, there were 4 of us total that had pre-orders in. We were told to show up at 10 to pick-up, and all of us were at the back of a long line of people hoping to get the 2 extra they had to sale. Guy right behind me that had a pre-order paid off had his accidently sold to one of the randoms in front of us. I got out of there quick before that place got shot up because dude was hood AF and not happy lmao.
Yea... 20 bucks nothing was accidentally about it being sold. Someone took a payout.
When the girl dropped the "We can guarantee you the next one, but we aren't sure when it will arrive" I knew shit was about to get bad lmao
Not going to lie, don't blame him for anything that happens, i would see red.
We were both already furious they didn't put us in separate lines. I arrived at like 10:05 and didn't have my console in hand until around 12. Missed 2 work meetings.
Looking at the live thread on reddit and the amount of butthurt and crying is enough entertainment until 3 o clock.
So happy mine is about to be here any minute lmao. I've never played Souls before.
While it's cool to have hardware the day it comes out, I really don't even see the reason to own one of these on day 1. I've had almost every PS/Xbox/Nintendo console/handheld at some point or another. I really don't discriminate when it comes to gaming. If it's good, it's good and I'll play it.
Every time I've bought a console at launch (no matter what brand), I end up not using it for mostly months after the "excitement" has died down. And yeah Demon's Souls is great, but I played through and beat it 10 years ago. But nothing about this would make me sad I didn't have one.
I know there's zealots of fans out there and just want everything Sony, but right now nothing screams PLAY ME. Especially with a huge backlog on my PC plate and going through the Trails games in order. Cyberpunk is also (hopefully) right around the corner and will perform best on PC.
I don't want to diminish anybody's fun, but I really don't get why anyone NEEDS it today.
For me it is mainly I have a TON of use or lose vacation starting next week and most of Dec. Wife is having surgery as well mid Dec. It would be really nice to have something to do since COVID is pretty much going to shut down the state again by that time.
i don't disagree personally but there's something to be said about having the newest shiniest toy on the market, a lot of people never played Demon's Souls, and a whole lot of people aren't PC gamers / don't have rigs that are equal to the consoles in tech.
that said it is p disappointing neither console is launching with a system-moving title.
Just picked up my PS5 and game from Best Buy. Hubby has been linking me ebay sales all morning so letting him decide since I did get it for him at a random 3am drop after he failed before and this was a birthday/Christmas present for him I thought he wanted lol. Most people bought two from different stores to resell it seems if they could..
I legitimately want to keep it but then personally realize I haven't picked up any video game outside playing drunk Mario party in the last 2 years. Partly due to a busy social life ( thanks COVID, FUCK YOU) and work schedule of 12 hour days plus doing overtime weekly. Actually miss my gaming days..
