Oh noes! People are touching grass!
This should be taken with a grain of salt of course but I thought I should post this.

Call me when the pro comes out...
I figure at this point they ought to drop the Slim moniker and just not be afraid to sell physically changed version as their R&D sees fit to continue doing so. The current PS5 mainboard/heatsink setup has shrank quite a bit compared to the launch model where they could shave a few inches off of its overall length, and maybe go with a less dumb outer-shell design that doesn't need a wobbly stand to sit it sorta flat.
There is so much damn plastic and in that case, and a ludicrous screw count to assemble that makes the original PS3 fat blush.
I'm not expecting to see that any year soon at the rate they still got supply issues. Does it make marketing sense to have a discrete half-step console release that costs even more when they already bumped the PS5 price up since launch in most territories? I've no idea how well/bad PS4 Pro did for them to warrant having the split hardware setup, not that they're avoiding a dual-SKU at present with the whole drive vs. digital-only versions of PS5 they got going atm.
Spoiler: show
Q3 seems a little late considering the potential Q2 release slate anchored by FFXVI. I guess Q3 could also mean July/August which is still summer, but I would also imagine they would want some amount of stock built up to avoid their current issues of accessibility, perceived or otherwise. Thats a decently condensed schedule unless its already pretty close to production.
Game Achievements Ltd FFS
Lol who cares that much about achievements?
You seem surprised that trophy clout is a thing. How often do you see people get called out on msg boards over "post count"?
I used to care about post count when I was 13 so I guess it makes sense.
Doesn't Sony require (or at one point did require) use of trophies in released titles? Maybe it was limited to multiplatform offerings?
Returnal is the only platinum I've been proud of. Anyone with plat for SoulsBorne games also get my respect.
Does your respect come with a cash prize? Got all but 3 and Sekiro. But I think the hardest one I’ve ever done, and not just difficult because of grind, was getting that Hardcore mode for Dead Space 2 plat. Nerve wracking as fuck.
i also plat’d returnal, elden ring and bloodborne, please build a monument to me
generally speaking if I enjoy a game I’ll try to platinum it. most recent game I didn’t bother was deathloop. enjoyed it but not enough to do all the dumb goals like kill all bosses but no normal enemies in the process
I've been getting my brother a PS+ 1 yr sub for Christmas several years now. With these new tiers introduced, is there much point getting something beyond the "essential" level (game quality, etc.)?
I would respect a Skyrim Platinum.
And then I would tell the person to seek help.

I've never bothered, but Skyrim is honestly not that hard to get platinum.
Think the hardest one is reading the 50 skill books.
There's certainly a point if the game catalogs offer anything he'd be interested in. Girlfriend wanted all the nostalgia for Ape Escape so I get the premium tier, but I can't say I've found much else in there that interested me. The plus or extra tier, whatever the 2nd is, feels like a good value with more modern games getting cycled in. No where near gamepass quality or quantity, but it's worth the value IMO.
