eGPU housings

anybody know anything about using an egpu? I picked up one of those 1070s last week and while I could use it in my desktop, I also have a dank laptop with an i7-9xxx but it has no gpu.
if I could get gpu housing to hook it up to and use at work that would be ideal, so anybody know anything about them or have one to recommend?

the laptop has a thunderbolt (usbc?) connection

most manufacturers of laptops have a GPU housing, they are pretty equal as far as performance goes so if you have an ASUS laptop getting one of their breakout boxes would be easy

Yeah it sucks doesn't it. If they were reasonably priced I'd love to go down that route.

im contemplating going this route, im about to be traveling A LOT for work, and will need a portable laptop, but i was thinking of doing this for back at the hotel to do some gaming.

anyone have any recommendations for a good combo? i was thinking of razr.

Dell XPS 15 from costco. I play League in hotels with it. Just make sure you raise any laptop or else heats going to kill it.
