Mo certainly deserves to have been voted in unanimously. However, I'm more happy about Doc Halladay getting the first ballot respect. Real talk, that guy was the scariest pitcher I can ever remember watching not named Pedro Martinez, and I admit my bias on that. Every time Halladay came to town you knew he wasn't going to give you any runs, and he wasn't going to let you get to the bullpen. He was just going to come out and cruise through whatever lineup was in front of him. Even more impressive, he dominated early on with power before his leg got blown up in 2005, then came back to be just as dominant with an enormous arsenal of pitches to make up for the power he lost. Halladay is firmly planted in my top 2 for best pitchers I've seen in my lifetime.
Ichiro signing a minor league deal. Will play the Mariners games in Japan, but that will probably be it after that.
Hunter Strickland signed a 1 year deal with the Mariners.
Pollock gets 4 years/55 Million with the Dodgers, which I'm shocked at how low it is.
Colorado and Nolan Arenado settle arbitration on 26mil for 2019. Largest 1yr salary for an arbitration eligible player
Philadelphia acquired JT Realmuto from Miami for Jorge Alfaro, 2 pitching prospects and an international bonus slot
Frank Robinson died. 1st black manager and only player to win MVP in both leagues
Harper and Machado in a game of chicken, neither of them wanting to sign first.
The Kansas City Royals signed veteran right-hander Homer Bailey to a minor deal Saturday that includes an invitation to big league spring training.
Infielder Brett Lawrie, who hasn't played professionally since he was released before the 2017 season, has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers, he announced on Instagram on Saturday.
He always kept it 100
And it's a minor league deal with a club option for 2020.

Kyler Murray committed to football, will not play for the A's.
Good. I think Rodger Sherman wrote a nice little piece about it but he's wasted on a baseball field

Did he grow three inches yet?
Rangers signed Hunter Pence to a minor league deal
Russ got an inch on him and could benefit from like 4 more
Just saying his body projects far easier to MLB player than NFL QB. Russ wasn't nearly as good of an MLB prospect as Kyler is.
There's no guarantee he succeeds, but he's done fine with his height to this point. And it's not like he's an option QB or something.
I don't blame anybody for choosing to be in the NFL day 1 as opposed to laboring in the minors just for a chance at making the bigs

This is how I feel. My heart tells me I would pick baseball in a heartbeat and that he should too. But with the garunteed money, no getting lost or turning out to be a bust in the grind of the minors, the instant starting job potentially. The career is shorter but if he busts in either he'll have made the better financial decision. If he doesn't bust is another story.
Guys are forgetting MLB gave the A’s permission to give him a guaranteed contract. He was going to get paid even if he busted in the minors.
