I saw modest mouse live in the spring and it was a terrible experience, the venue in Asheville was absolutely not set up for "rock music" and it sounded horrible. Unbelievably loud and distorted.

I couldnt understand a single thing isaac said all night (ontop of his speech impediment already being hard to understand lol)

I've heard good things about their live shows, but I guess it depends on the setting.

They were doing a tour with Brand New a couple years ago. I really wanted to go and relive high school, but couldn't get tickets.

There was a reddit thread one day like "what has been your biggest band disappointment live" and they were in the top couple answers, but people did say they had some really good shows also. Sounds pretty hit or miss.
