goddamn i love her
goddamn i love her
She's got a nice voice.
I was going to post in here this morning, but forgot. Here's a studio session from Sylvan Esso. Usually more electronic, but they grabbed friends/bandmates and did some really good live recordings.
There's 5 songs they recording in this session. Should check them out if this interests you. I actually like Rewind best, but thought this song had a more universal appeal.
i saw them live a year or so ago, they are really really good, one mo
Spoiler: show
digging that song you posted, i feel like i know one of their songs by her voice, i think my wife my have them in a mix or something
Yeah, I believe that studio, Echo Mountain, is in NC.
The three vocalists also have a band together called Mountain Man.
Sylvan Esso is usually just the one vocalist, Amelia, and the guy that was playing bass, Nick.
NPR Tiny Desk series is the tits McGee
Yeah I've found so many great artists from tiny desk, its one of my fave things on the youtubes
Lake Street Dive has a tiny desk too it's p. good
I laugh at RTJ's tiny desk from time to time, day drinking tryna dial it in. If you need some folksy Memphis gurl, I like Valerie June's tiny desk session a lot too.
i watched hobo johnson tiny desk and wanted to die
Couple more Tiny Desks from artists I like.
Dirty Projectors has a really good library, other than the last album he made. Dave, the main vocalist, is basically Dirty Projectors and he brings people in to collaborate. The last album he made was a "break up album" from his split with his girlfriend and vocalist on a few albums Amber Coffman. Very different sound and not something I enjoyed.
Posted his Pretty Pimpin' song a while back. This is from a new album. He also has a collab album with that other artist Courtney Barnett that I believe you said you liked when I posted them. That one's called Lotta Sea Lice.
This one's old and doesn't capture them quite as well. They're a band from up near me. The girl is literally just a girl, or at least was when I first heard of them. Think she was 16 when I first heard them on an indie discovery kind of thing. They're usually very energetic, loud, and a little rough. This was subdued. Probably not for the BG crowd.
This guy has a pretty big library too, but only started getting real attention a few years ago.
Just heard about this girl last year. Think she's pretty young too, maybe 18 or 19? Lot of young artist getting attention recently which is awesome.
Defeater got back together for anyone who cares.
It's pretty much the best thing that's gonna happen for me in 2019 besides the one-off Have Heart reunion show
I felt that way a few years ago when At The Drive In did a tour. Was a great show when it actually happened. They cancelled the first time while we were at the doors because the singer had throat polyps.
don't care for Sylvan Esso too much but they covered a Gillian Welch song whomst is one of my favorite country artists and the harmonies are like wuh
also we all know the only tiny desk that matters
