Keep your AST in fates, I usually kick AST from parties because they can't keep up with healing on large pulls which is really problematic.

AST is shit, its the monk of 5.0, delete it. Maybe 5.05 will make adjustments to their heals but it will still be the middle groud split between SCH and WHM, its heals and regen effects wont be as strong as a WHM and its shields wont be as powerful ast a SCH. Its only niche usefulness were cards and they're borderline useless.

Don't worry its not the first time AST was useless. I'd assume they're gonna get some basic potency buffs come 5.05 and a lot of their older toolkit restored in 5.1 much like what they did with SCH in 4.1
i heal large pulls just fine on Ast there is nothing wrong with their healing.
when you say large pulls, are you talking about literal max pulls? Because that's what SCH and WHM are doing right now
Of course you can but you'll be doing it spamming nothing but Benefic 2. Even then you'll probably get into a healing slump and the only tool AST really has to overcome that is Neutral Sect and only really in Diurnal since if you do it in Noct you'll run out of MP.
Synastry in a way also helps since you're going to be spamming Benefic, but they nerfed that too sooooo... Everything else is likely to get your tank killed or just be a drip in a bucket, and you have to do all this while drawing cards for basically no effect.
There are no clever ways to handle big pulls anymore, you dump all your CDs and spam Benefic and hope your tank doesn't die. It's not easy and overly stressful to do on AST.
I'd say I enjoy AST more in 8 man content, but I dunno how much I'm contributing lol
I mean as long as AST's buffs are doing at least as much RDPS as the personal DPS difference between them and WHM, they'll have a spot in the meta. At that point they just need to make the job feel better to play

Did they do make a change where tank stance is dropped when you enter a dungeon? Because I’ve had multiple runs since SHB launch that get off to a hilarious wipe start on first pull because “lol forgot tank stance”.

So was there any real reason for capping out trusts? It just seems like a grid for grind's sake.
I imagine if you want to use them in post-game story dungeons/next expansion dungeons, after first clear, you will need them leveled?

Should probably work on my AST alt before the rework is done to see is its 3.0 HW bad or worse.
it's not really fair to make that comparison in both cases Ast was fine for leveling but also early heavensward era single pulls were the norm in DF. i think a simple change they could make is buff the base potency of ED and add 1 more charge. or a way to get charges back faster.
