It won't save it.
Where else are they going to put those people? “We canceled this one project but instead of shifting you guys to another bigger project we’re working on, we’re gonna have you guys sit on your hands.”
Moving more people to DA is only a good thing in this instance.
Edit; misread. It was the anthem 1 update that was canceled. Still, if anything it shows that EA has less faith in Anthem 2 and thinks DA4 could be their saving grace.
There's no saving grace here. Its a business move, yes, but they aren't thinking DA4 will be their Golden Goose. If they did, they'd be putting Peter Molyneaux-levels of false promises and Cyberpunk hype out there, and thus far all they've shown is some CGI bullshit trailer that any company with a few mill can hire out and a title card.
Still, that's enough to get desperate fans who are begging for the "Bioware of old!" to come back on angelic wings to come save everything, so I suppose it may be enough.
Less golden goose and more “if this fails we are fucked.”
If this was any other developer than BioWare then EA would have dismantled and shut down the studio after a single bad game. Hell, EA has destroyed studios with underperforming, successful games and BioWare has put out 2 flops back to back.
I dunno where people think BioWare is in dire financial straits if this fails or something. They are making buckets of money from SWTOR alone.
It’s not the financial straits of the company that puts them in danger. It’s disappointing Big Daddy EA. Their past success is the only thing that has kept them alive through Andromeda and Anthem, but that really doesn’t mean much to EA. Just look at the shallow grave in their backyard. Most recent big one being Visceral who did great with dead space 1 and 2, but said that if 3 didn’t sell five million copies, it would not continue the series.
Andromeda still turned a profit in spite of all the fuckups, and I'm pretty sure Anthem did too.
The critical and public perception of Bioware has taken a hit in the last decade-ish, but the studio is still making money for daddy.
And Mass Effect Legendary edition is about to sell a shit load of copies despite neck beards crying about Miranda’s ass being downplayed.
It's the galaxy's ass.
why have woman, if no sexualize ?
What am I looking at, aside from what looks like a random mage in Tevinter? Art style and logo gives mobile game vibe.

Dreadwolfhttps://blog.bioware.com/2022/06/02/...age-dreadwolf/Solas, the Dread Wolf. Some say he might be an ancient elven god, but some say not. Others say a betrayer of his people…or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity—a player of dark and dangerous games.
Whether you’re new to Dragon Age™ stories or you’ve experienced them all, using Solas’s namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go. But at the core of this, like every past game, is you. If you’re new to Dragon Age, you have no need to worry about not having met our antagonist just yet. He’ll properly introduce himself when the time is right, but we did hint at his return when we announced #TheDreadWolfRises back in 2018.
I still find myself looking forward to this. Although my bet is early 2024 rather than 2023. Why not make it an even ten year celebration of the release of the last game?
The Trespasser DLC gives me hope that they can just expand on that and make a cool game. I did actually like Inquisition, faults and all, but Trespasser was a clear step above.
Someday, I will finish the first DA game.
Some day.
