This. Just The last page is the quote about the team being shifted from Anthem 2.0 to dragon age but "insists it's still on track ". Shame on anyone who thinks this won't be another quick money grab

Where else are they going to put those people? “We canceled this one project but instead of shifting you guys to another bigger project we’re working on, we’re gonna have you guys sit on your hands.”
Moving more people to DA is only a good thing in this instance.
Edit; misread. It was the anthem 1 update that was canceled. Still, if anything it shows that EA has less faith in Anthem 2 and thinks DA4 could be their saving grace.

There's no saving grace here. Its a business move, yes, but they aren't thinking DA4 will be their Golden Goose. If they did, they'd be putting Peter Molyneaux-levels of false promises and Cyberpunk hype out there, and thus far all they've shown is some CGI bullshit trailer that any company with a few mill can hire out and a title card.

Still, that's enough to get desperate fans who are begging for the "Bioware of old!" to come back on angelic wings to come save everything, so I suppose it may be enough.

If this was any other developer than BioWare then EA would have dismantled and shut down the studio after a single bad game. Hell, EA has destroyed studios with underperforming, successful games and BioWare has put out 2 flops back to back.

This. There's no super incentive for them to "ace" this other than pride. I'm sure they're going to try to Cyberpunk and make this the biggest deal in the world, but meh.

It’s not the financial straits of the company that puts them in danger. It’s disappointing Big Daddy EA. Their past success is the only thing that has kept them alive through Andromeda and Anthem, but that really doesn’t mean much to EA. Just look at the shallow grave in their backyard. Most recent big one being Visceral who did great with dead space 1 and 2, but said that if 3 didn’t sell five million copies, it would not continue the series.

The critical and public perception of Bioware has taken a hit in the last decade-ish, but the studio is still making money for daddy.

The Trespasser DLC gives me hope that they can just expand on that and make a cool game. I did actually like Inquisition, faults and all, but Trespasser was a clear step above.
