Daily Mail first reported the affair a couple weeks ago. They say Omar has already split from her current husband.

I wouldn't say anything until a more reputable source comes out.

MN local media picked it up. Omar has denied that she is having an affair nor has she split from her husband.

“Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar, who serves as a U.S. Representative from Minnesota,” says the divorce petition, filed Tuesday in Washington, D.C., Superior Court.

Omar denied the allegation, saying, “No, I’m not,” in answer to the question if she’s separated from her husband and dating someone in an interview with WCCO Tuesday evening.

His wife’s court petition asks for primary custody of the couple’s 13-year-old son, citing Mynett’s “sporadic” involvement with the boy.

“Due to his extensive travel and long work hours… Defendants more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than his actual work commitments,” says the divorce complaint.

It also suggests that threats against Omar represent a danger to the couple’s son, alleging the boy has joined Mynett and Omar, who has “gathered a plethora of media attention, along with death threats, one rising to the level of arresting the known would be assassin that same week.”

Meanwhile in other Ilhan Omar news the Alabama GOP is attempting to oust her.

The state GOP supported a resolution calling for the congresswoman's ouster at its summer meeting in Auburn this past weekend, according to Al.com. The committee reportedly approved the resolution on a voice vote after it was introduced by state Rep. Tommy Hanes.

The resolution calls on Alabama's congressional delegation to "proceed with the expulsion process in accordance to Article 1, Section 5 of the U.S. Constitution."

Omar, a Somali refugee who last year became one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, has sparked criticism from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle over her comments about issues tied to U.S.-Israeli relations.

The resolution backed by Alabama Republicans condemns Omar for what it calls her "disturbing record of using anti-Semitic language that includes alleging Jewish money is used to buy American influence regarding its policy toward Israel."

Omar slapped back pretty hard.
