It's certainly a long slow process to appeal a valid, improperly denied UI claim (or worse, an invalid claim from someone eligible because they screwed up a form) in a state that isn't trying.
It really shouldn't take any longer to send checks to everyone as it does to send it to everyone making under 40k. It is a simple fucking query to a database to find out who gets the check. Shit, they have already done it and have the ability to do so considering they have already capped the last checks that were sent.
Not saying I'm for or against this, I'm just saying it is really fucking easy.
Okay but youre saying "this is a decent working solution" at the same time youre hand waving clear concrete reporting that many benefits are not getting to people who qualify, for many reasons including mismanagement.
Alternatively, we could just do this better and smarter, and not double down on a system that clearly has holes in it.

I'm all for operating UI federally through the SSA but that's a huge overhaul and extremely unlikely in the best political circumstances.
As it is, the federal UI boost, including 1099s, is far better than I would have hoped for.
I'll take "House Representatives in major US cities" for $200 Alex.
This is gonna be the new "look how much blue there is on this adjusted-for-population map of the US"

I tried to figure out this guy's deal and came up empty. The primary for the FL-18 house seat has already occurred, and he wasn't running in it. So it's really unclear wtf he's running for, almost feels like he scammed twitter out of a blue-check by claiming to be a candidate.
He's running as an independent. I'd laugh if he somehow takes enough votes from the far right and flips the seat accidentally. FL congressional primary is August 18th.

anyone who has “candidate for xxx” in their twitter profile is just fishing for follows to subscribe to/monetize their patreon/youtube/podcast
and possibly onlyfans
That incumbent, Brian Mast, must be pretty well liked in his district. It's only R+5 but he won in the 2018 blue wave by almost 9 points. That's the type of seat the Dems would hope to pick up in a wave.
Let's just go fucking nuts.
