Soon, though, Meadows and other Republicans were telling Chairman Elijah Cummings of Maryland that members should get more than three days’ notice to attend questioning of witnesses by Democratic staff lawyers. Meadows said five days was better, particularly for lawmakers who live far from Washington.
Ocasio-Cortez wasted no time in offering her first remarks on the committee. “I don’t believe we need five days” if lawmakers are doing their jobs, she responded.
Meadows wasn’t going to let that go. Formally directing his remarks to Cummings, he responded: “Mr. Chairman, I can tell you on all of this at this particular point, we’re all wanting to cooperate.” But he said, “Sometimes our schedules, you know, we’re not just sitting around eating bonbons, waiting for the call of anybody.”
Ocasio-Cortez then asked Cummings whether Republicans gave members ample notice for such matters during the last congressional session, when they ran the committee.
“No,” said Cummings, of Maryland.
“OK, thank you,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
It should be noted that Democrats want to try and primary her.
Fucking morons.
She's going to get primaried in 2020 and we're gonna have a huge fight because a lot of resources from both the DCCC and her fundraising through act blue is going to get dumped into this.
This may be a stupid question, but I think I'm confusing the use of the word primary in this case. Is it...
-They are going to push for AOC to be elected to something greater
or
-Trying to get another Democrat to run against her (if it's this one than absolutely wtf are they thinking)
Hmmm. I hadn't thought of that, it's something I read on thehill.
Schumer's seat is open in 2020 and unless he voluntarily steps down I don't think anyone is really in a position to challenge him. The same conditions don't really exist for another AOC sneaky fuck type of win (80% of peeps stayed home in her district for that primary) and what happened in 2018 doesn't give me much hope for a state wide progressive rep from New York.

Let's primary the one that actually says what the rest of the fucking left wants to say. Good plan Dems. Good... fucking...plan...
I totally understand what their mentality is but the problem with Democrats as a whole has always been total disconnect with their base and how to engage them.
In AOC they have a huge opportunity to do that, and I feel like they're missing the point.
Having huge opportunities and missing the point has been the Dem's motto.
Wat
Gotta nip democracy in the bud or who knows where you end up
