Isle of Armor was... well, I’ve got nothing to say about that.
Tundra, though, I’ve been playing for the last three days and still haven’t gotten farther than the dynamax adventures. It’s fun but I’m really glad they made the battles easier than the max raids because it’s rare you get a full competent team who knows how to play as a team.
When your teammate has Pollen Puff but doesn't heal anyone.
When your teammates choose the Electric path instead of grass when your team is 2 water, a grass, and a flying.
When you have two lives left and the person with 30hp doesn't take a new pokemon heading into the legendary fight.
Things that lead to a wipe.
Yeah teaming up with others is pretty much impossible for some of the harder fights. Something like Zygarde would be really hard, Kyogre is tough too. Things like Dialga can completely wall you.
I'll give you a tip that I used a lot. So say you have a path saved. You may have noticed if you reset the game it keeps the starting rental pokemon as well as the same path to the legendary. You can use this to your advantage. If you get a really favorable path, you can shiny check the legendary at the end and then reset your game. You can redo the same path as many times as you want. There is a penalty though, 0, 0, 3, 4, and so on up to 10 dynite ores in order to participate again.
So if you found a Zygarde path that had, say, 2 ice pokemon and a wide guard pokemon, you could just do that over and over. Keep in mind this only works for the host (if you had two people hosting Zygarde it would only be the same if the same host started it each time). The added advantage is that you can save your poke balls so if you wanted something in a beast ball, you could keep using the same ball over and over.
I've shiny hunted 42 legendaries from dynamax adventure this way.
So I’ve had people who just AFK the whole Dynamax adventure run a few times, but this was the first time I’ve had someone wait until the Legendary fight and then actively attack his own teammates to purposely wipe us.
I didn’t realize until this morning that any shiny Pokémon you find in D.A. won’t show up until the very end when you’re choosing your one Pokémon to keep. Wonder how many I missed out on because I rarely caught non-legendaries unless I wanted to use them in the run or maybe for breeding. I only noticed this morning because the Tyrantrum I caught happened to be shiny. Got a shiny Nidoking 2 runs after that. Just imagining the ones that went uncaught or even worse, unnoticed in the selection menu since I’ve already been through dozens of runs.
I caught and checked every pokemon and never saw a shiny after doing like 40 or so runs so I doubt you missed many.
Player's Cup 3 was this weekend, had some really great matches (and what felt like some bad throws by both the winner and the player who came in second). Kyogre beat out all the sun teams, sleep was really dominant, Zacian and Calyrex were all over the tournament, but mostly glad to see Coal not win again.
Also, if you use code WPF1NALSPC3, you can get a free weakness policy (although I think the code expires later today).
Not a collab I was expecting to see in 2021
