What If (D+) - August 11, 2021

Enjoyed the low-stakes fun of this one. Honestly feel like the ending took away from the episode. 'We have to end this on a sour note, quick think of something' - Marvel probably

Maybe like you guys said it'll have a payoff in the next ep or two but they've all felt pretty disjointed from one another

Comics Infinity Stones, indeterminate. We rarely see the Watcher actually fight someone. There is a What If where he intervenes to stop Galactus and ends up being devoured, and the energy is so much it cures Galactus's hunger. There is a moment in Infinity War where Thor asks him if he has the power to stop Magus's plan and he says he may, but he won't.

MCU Infinity Stones, for sure. Actually just by their nature using all of them at once should burn Ultron out so they're already taking liberties.

I also got the sense though that Uatu was never fighting at his full power and was still grappling with his oath even at the end. He was almost all defense.

I don't get too hung up on the implausibility of the actions that were needed to get us where we need to go though. Solid ep. And hype as hell ending, can't wait for the multiverse Avengers team up

I know it's just nitpicking but I did like Zealot's explanation. Certainly makes more sense.

Also, I love how they keep using Captain Marvel as the "Ace in the Hole" and she keeps not fully succeeding. It shows shes still very powerful but not an ultimate power

I like how they have killed Tony Stark in literally every episode in which he has appeared. Something hilarious about Marvel killing their biggest hero every chance they get.

The stones for sure work outside of their universe, thats the premise of endgame. They just didn't work in the TVA

That's true, in Loki they do say the stones don't work inside the TVA, they don't mention other realities. Them not working in other universes seems to strictly be a comics thing.

From what we’ve seen in the MCU, the stones- at least while I’m the gauntlet- need to be activated to be used.

Good overall Finale I'd say, obviously they can only do so much with 30 minutes, but I think it was decent.
