    Phone not charging properly?

I have an iPhone 7 and for w/e reason it's not charging properly.

Here's the thing. Both cords work. My charging case always works. and both of my charging cables will charge both the phone and the charging case when they're together.

That said, the charging case is not my primary case (my headphones don't work with the case, and I listen to music pretty much every day since I'm on the bicycle) and I'd like to be able to charge the phone w/o it. I have to unplug and replug the charging cables uptwards to 15-20 times when the phone is by itself for it to work

Is there even a reason why it'd act this way? If it were just fault cables or if the charging just outright didn't work, I'd understand but this conditional charging makes no sense to me

Are they official Apple wires? The thin metal between the indents could be breaking off (I had that u-shape part stick inside of an ipad and the wire it broke from could still charge that pad but nothing else). My 5C had so much use that the battery is completely fucked up. It'll say 30%, I do one thing, drops to 1%, plug it in, and it shows 30% instantly. My best friend uses third party wires, and some updates render them useless (not sure how/why).

Have you used compressed air / tweezers to clean the charging port? Occasionally there will be dust in there that will prevent a connection
